In Week 8, we invited our graduate school students to share some insight on their respective fields. We would like to give a special thanks to all the panelists and special recognition for PCH alumni:
Sharee Anzaldo- Nursing, PhD student Adrian Matias Bacong- Community Health Sciences, PhD student Robi Bucayu- Medical student Felisha Eugenio- Medical student Sheela Ignacio (PCH alumni)- Dental student Jetrina Maque (PCH alumni)- Medical student Megan Massa- Neuroscience, PhD student Oliver Refugio- Medical student Jiem Ronas (PCH alumni)- Post-Bachelor's student Stacy Songco- Medical student Shayma Thoppiyil (PCH alumni)- Dental student As undergraduate students, it is not uncommon for us to have questions about our future schooling or careers. This was a great opportunity to relate to grad students who were once in our positions. They answered our questions about why they chose their respective fields, graduate school experiences, what makes an ideal candidate, and recommended classes to take. These health panels are important to us because they help us gain knowledge from grad students who are willing to share their personal experiences. They know (first-hand) the hardships of being a student, but also the successes that come from hard work. It is in our best effort to use this knowledge to better ourselves in planning for our futures. Also, they reassured and supported us in our own college journey. Once more, we extend our gratitude to all the panelists for sharing their time! Another special thanks to our coordinators who made this event possible and for all attendees for coming.
