Hi everyone! Hopefully your midterm season has been going well, and that there's an end in sight! As always, a huge thank you to all of you who have been coming out to our general meetings. We hope they've been helpful and informative. Be sure to come out to this week's meeting at the same time and place (Thursday, 11/5 from 6-7 PM in the Ackerman Viewpoint Conference Rooms). The Princeton Review will be here to talk about prepping for the MCAT and GRE.
Here is a brief overview of our upcoming events:
Wishing you all a great week! If you've still got midterms and finals, hang in there!! Be like this penguin and never give up. See you all at our next GM!
Hey guys! Thank you for supporting us in our Boba and Banh Mi Fundraiser! We couldn't have raised the money without all the volunteers and members that stopped by. Also, thank you for attending the meetings in the past two weeks, we hope the tips for college survival were helpful and we hope we have made you more aware about the importance of public health not only in America but in the Philippines as well. We look forward to seeing you this coming week. Here is a recap of the events during week 4.

Special shout out to Leanne, one of our Medical Outreach Directors!!!! Without her, our Boba and Banh Mi fundraiser would not have happened. We love you Leanne! <3

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who came out to our First General Meeting and Ice Cream Social last week! We hope that it was fun and informative, and got everyone looking forward to all the events and opportunities to come. Some photos are at the bottom of this post. Now that the quarter has gotten underway, here are some of our upcoming events!
We will be having our first fundraiser of the year on Thursday, October 15, from 10 AM to 3 PM. We will be selling boba and Banh Mi in the Court of Sciences. Sign up for a shift here and fulfill an active membership requirement! If you cannot make a shift, stop by to say hi and get your boba and Banh Mi fix - and tell all of your friends!
Then after the fundraiser, come out to our Week 3 General Meeting on Thursday, October 15 from 6-7 PM in the Ackerman Viewpoint Conference Rooms 1 & 2. We will present and unofficial yet useful College Survival Guide, which will give you tips and resources to help you survive and thrive at UCLA.
Are you a new student looking for guidance here at UCLA? Or an older student who wants to share your wisdom and advice? Or maybe just looking for new friendships and a support system? If so, join our Mentorship Program and become a mentor or a mentee! Applications are due this Sunday: click here for mentors and here for mentees. Questions? Contact our PHAM directors, Journne and Catherine.
If you're ready to start accumulating those volunteer hours, we have a Health Site this Saturday, October 17, from 8 AM-2 PM at Seafood City Supermarket at Carson! Sign up here to join our Preventive Health Co-Director, Benny, in providing a great service to the community. See the newsletter for more details and information.
That's all for now, but we hope you're super excited for what's still to come. Hope to see you at our next general meeting!
Hello Everyone! We hope that your week has been going well so far. While this quarter is full of great events that you all should definitely find the time to attend, take a look at what we did over the summer.
Other than Senior Smiles sites and Preventive Health sites that were held over the summer sessions, the biggest event of the summer was the Medical Immersion in Alabat, Quezon Province in the Philippines. There were 8 volunteers from PCH and a German medical student who served with the University of the Philippines' Ugnayan ng Pahinungod. Here are some pictures from our trip.
We hope you can join us next summer for yet another successful and fun medical mission! Learn the details about our Medical Outreach program and other equally great programs at next week's General Meeting! Mark your calendars for October 8th 6-7 PM in the Ackerman Viewpoint Conference Rooms, come meet the staff and join us for an Ice Cream Social after the meeting!

A huge thank you to all of you who signed up for PCH during the Enormous Activities Fair or during your orientation session! It was great to meet all of you, and we hope you’re as excited as we are for the upcoming year. We know you probably accumulated a ton of flyers, but we hope you check us out! If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s never too late! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our mailing list, or come out to our first general meeting.
Just a reminder that we will not have a general meeting during week 1 of the quarter.
