In light of our PCH collaboration with Vietnamese Community Health (VCH) today, we'd like to let you all know about some external organizations that often work with us! If you would like to check out an organization below, simply click the graphic below each description.
- Sydney Cooper Senior Smiles: Our Senior Smiles Community Outreach component works side-by-side with the Sydney Cooper Senior Smiles non-profit organization in order to bring smiles to seniors one visit at a time. Sydney Cooper helps us out with trainings and orientations in order to equip our volunteers with the skills and bedside manner necessary to lighten up any senior's day.
- Filipino-American Health Workers Association (FAHWA): In order to link our volunteers to the global community, PCH works with FAHWA to set up medical missions directly to the Philippines. The work of FAHWA is to provide health care to those in the Philippines who don't get to see doctors and medical professionals first hand and we at PCH are very enthusiastic to work along side them.
- PUSO @ UC Irvine: UC Irvine's Pilipino Pre-Health Student Organization (PUSO) is PCH's counterpart on their campus. Although PCH has only started to collaborate with PUSO last year, we're building strong ties among Pre-Health Filipino Student Organizations in the University of California system. If you're a student at UCI, you should definitely check them out.
- Community Service Commission (CSC): Okay, well CSC really isn't an "external organization". PCH as a body is technically a project under CSC, but we both work separately enough to provide different resources for different people. Check out other projects under CSC (like VCH) as well as other involvements with the community here:
